Every Class we will be having KICK BACK AND READ time (K.B.A.R.)
Here are some tips to make sure that you have a good KBAR.
Step 1. Pick a book/magazine that interests you.
Step 2. Visualize the story, pay attention to the introduction of characters and setting.
Step 3. If you do not know the meaning of a word, try using context clues to figure it out. If that doesn't work, then look it up in the dictionary.
Step 4. Use the five finger rule. Pick a book, and read the first two or three pages. Put one finger up for every word you can't pronounce or don't know the meaning of. If you've put up 5 or more fingers, the book is probably too hard.
